Salud Digital y Género
How to help young people challenge gender norms about health in a digital world.
Introduction
Digital Health and Gender will address the gender dimension of digital health technologies, analyzing their influence on young people.
From social networks of fitness and healthy food to self-monitoring physical activity devices or AI systems for psychological well-being, these digital technologies for health promotion perpetuate neoliberal logics of bodily optimization and “healthy excellence,” reinforcing binary gender norms that generate exclusion and inequality.
The current challenge demands questioning existing digital health practices and the sociopolitical contexts in which they are embedded, while simultaneously inviting us to imagine more hopeful, equitable, and secure digital health futures for youth.
Our objectives
Create a forum for scientific discussion and reflection, multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral, to critically analyse digital technologies aimed at health promotion from a gender perspective, collectively reimagining more equitable and safe futures that give young people a voice.
Train the teaching community in the critical evaluation of digital health, promoting the co-design of pedagogical strategies that empower young people to deconstruct the stereotypes and gender mandates present in these environments.

Artist-led workshops to reimagine digital health education from a critical-creative gender perspective. Aimed at in-service Secondary teachers, Primary teachers (final cycle) and third-sector educators. Held in Spanish.
